At least 10 people died in a fire in a hotel in Turkey. Besides, more than 30 people were injured. This casualty happened in the dark of night in a ski resort hotel in the northwestern part of the country.
At least 10 people have died after a fire broke out at a hotel in a northwestern ski resort, local officials said.
The country's Interior Minister Ali Yarlikaya said that the fire broke out in the restaurant of the hotel in Kartalkaya resort in Bolu province at night. Another 32 people have been admitted to the hospital with injuries in this incident.
In a post on the social media X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "After the fire spread, 277 employees of various government institutions and organizations went to the spot."
Bolu governor Abdul Aziz Aydin told Anadolu news agency that two people died after panicking and jumping from the building after the fire spread. He also said that there were 234 guests in the hotel at the time of the fire.
Incidentally, Kartalkaya in Bolu province is one of the main winter tourism destinations in Turkey. Thousands of tourists travel there during the ski season. The resort is located approximately 295 kilometers (183 mi) east of Istanbul.
